Joshua Silver is a Postgraduate Doctoral Researcher at the University of Manchester with the Manchester Architectural Research Group (MARG). His current doctoral research focuses on the digital technological transformations to architectural practice since the 1980s. Moving beyond current approaches which centre the formal and representational outcomes of digital technologies, Joshua seeks to explore the wider array of transformations these technologies brought to design production. In addition, Joshua holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree from the University of Toronto, Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design. While undertaking his M.Arch studies, Joshua co-edited The Annual 18, made editorial contributions to Thinking While Doing: Explorations in Educational-Design/Build, and contributed to various other publications. Outside academics, Joshua pursues an active constrained writing, translation, and indexing practice.
