Personal profile

Overview

I am a PhD student in Latin American Cultural Studies, supervised by Prof James Scorer and Dr Ignacio Aguiló.

My research focuses on Panamanian literature and, particularly, literary representations of the Panamanian dictatorship and the 1989 US invasion to Panama. I analyse works of fiction to explore how these difficult memories are mediated through literature and how they engage, support, or critique national narratives of Panama as a route of transit.
