Kasandra Swiderska is a research professional who recently completed her PhD at The University of Manchester, where she worked in collaboration with industry partners. Her research interests lie at the interface between Optometry and Computer Science, with a focus on advancing the healthcare industry through the application of Artificial Intelligence. Throughout her academic journey, Kasandra has undertaken various significant projects, including:
With a wealth of expertise in both Optometry and Computer Science, Kasandra is dedicated to making meaningful contributions to her field and driving advancements in healthcare.
Kasandra has successfully completed her PhD in Optometry in early 2023 under the supervision of Professor Philip Morgan. Her thesis, titled 'Dynamic Characterisation of Meibomian Gland Structure', focused on investigating changes in gland appearance and filling the knowledge gap related to the relationship between gland structure and its function.
Prior to her time at The University of Manchester, Kasandra earned an MSc in Optometry and a BSc in Optical Sciences from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland. She had the opportunity to enhance her academic and personal development through studying and working abroad in countries such as Sweden, Australia, and Spain. These international experiences contributed to her global perspective and cultural awareness.
With her extensive academic background and a strong dedication to advancing the field of Optometry, Kasandra is committed to making valuable contributions to our understanding of Meibomian gland structure and its implications for ocular health.
