Research interests

Dr Slinger's primary research interest is the Theban Necropolis, and the distribution of non-royal tombs in particular. She investigates how the sacred landscape of the Theban Necropolis impacted on tomb distribution and orientation, considering festival processional routes and proximity to royal mortuary temples in particular.
Her other research interests include the development of the architecture and decoration of non-royal tombs throughout the pharaonic period, the workmen's village and tombs of Deir el-Medina, and the impact of the Amarna Period on royal and non-royal tomb decoration and distribution.
