In 2012 he started working as a researcher on the UK GAMMA Programme, where Manchester worked with SMEs in the North West to create mission management applications for robotics and autonomous systems. Since 2015 Khris has worked on multiple projects with various research teams and companies to deliver solution for remote sensing using Unmanned Aircraft Systems. He has participated in numerous international field campaigns and has operated in the UK and internationally.

His research focuses on developing payloads and operations for new applications of Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Some of the projects he has worked on include:

  1. Design of remote sensing payloads to measure CO2 and Methane emissions from landfill sites.
  2. Developing operating safety case for MAGMA fluidic and conventional aircraft.
  3. Design and operation of a mechanism for capturing ash from an active volcano.

Khris currently teaches Advance Group Design projects. His focus is to deliver a module in which students are immersed in the leading edge of aerospace systems in a relevant industrial context. Khris has also worked on the preparation and deliver of several CPD courses and summer schools.
