Lana joined the University of Manchester in October 2018 as a postdoctoral Research Associate. Lana is a development geographer, interested primarily in food security and the right to food, social protection and forest management in South Asia.
Lana completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2017 under the supervision of Professor Bhaskar Vira. Her thesis examined the realisation of the right to food in India and focussed specifically on India’s Midday Meal Scheme. Since she has worked as a research assistant at the University of Cambridge and then at the University of Sheffield. At the GDI, she is working with Dr Johan Oldekop on an impact evaluation of livelihood interventions in Nepal.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
