Biography

After graduating as a pharmacist from the Univerity of Heidelberg in 2014 with the second state examination (Master's equivalent), Leonie absolved her pre-registration year as research intern in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham and in a community pharmacy in Berlin. Her research in Nottingham focused on an economic evaluation of the New Medicine Service (NMS) in patients with gout.

Since January 2016 Leonie is a fully licensed and registered pharmacist in Germany and worked as hospital pharmacist in Hamburg until 2017.

Leonie joined the Manchester Centre for Health Economics (MCHE) in September 2017 as a PhD student in health economics. Her PhD focused on the use of electronic health records to inform a cost-effectiveness analyses of a system-level digital health technology that aims to prevent hazardous prescribing. 

After her PhD Leonie started a position as a research associate working on different projects in the area of patients safety (e.g., consequences of hazardous prescribing, economic evaluations, survey analysis, medicines adherence during COVID-19).

Since January 2021 Leonie is an honorary research associate at the University of Manchester and continues her close collaboration with MCHE on multiple projects..
