My previous research has examined the influence of the classical world on British liberal internationalism, and covered liberal theories of global order, cultural internationalist projects, conceptions of international citizenship, and practical civic education schemes outlined by nineteenth- and twentieth-century internationalists.
My research interests include international history, modern British and European intellectual history, imperialism, the history of political ideas, classical reception, citizenship and civic education, and the history of historiography.
