Biography

Lindsey Jones received her undergraduate degree in primary education with QTS from the University of Northumbria and worked as a teacher in mainstream and SEND education for a number of years. Lindsey went on to study for her MSc in Deaf Education from the University of Manchester and worked as a Teacher of the Deaf and Head of Service in the North East before being appointed her lectureship at the University of Manchester.  Lindsey's PhD research at Manchester evaluated the impact of a home-based science intervention on the development of deaf and typically hearing pre-school children's conceptual understanding in science and their scientific enquiry skills. 

Overview

Lindsey is a Senior Lecturer on the MSc/PGDip Deaf Education programme at the University of Manchester. She is also the academic lead for admissions onto the programme. 

Lindsey is a Senior Fellow of the HEA and Honorary Fellow of the ITL.

Lindsey also sits on the University Regulatory Ethics Committee and is a Chair for Faculty Fitness to Practice and Appeals and Conduct.
