Lisa joined the Manchester Centre for Health Psychology as a Research Associate inJanuary 2018. She is working with Prof David French on an MRC/NIHR funded project on measurement reactivity (how measuring people affects their behaviour, emotions and the data they provide about themselves) and how this can lead to bias in trials. The project involves synthesising existing evidence and expert opinion and will produce the first guidance on preventing such bias.
Lisa completed her BSc (Hons) Biology with Industrial Experience at the University of Manchester in 2000 and a MMedSci inHuman Nutrition at the University of Sheffield in 2002. She subsequently worked as a nutrition scientist for several years at the World Cancer Research Fund, British Nutrition Foundation and Department of Health. She is a registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition specialising in public health (RNutr public health).
Lisa pursued a Doctorate in Public Health at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine from 2009. Her research thesis focussed on vitamin B12 status and neurological function in older people and involved systematic reviews and secondary analyses of a randomised controlled trial. She completed her doctorate on a part-time basis alongside working in various roles across the health sector where she gained experience of evidence synthesis, research management and health policy development.
In 2018, she joined the Manchester Centre for Health Psychology to take up a Research Associate position.
