Personal profile
Overview
I am an Economics PhD student at the University of Manchester.
My research interests are in public and development economics, focusing on the design of tax and social security systems.
My dissertation analyses how taxation and other regulations affect the informality of firms and workers in developing economies with low enforcement capacity. I am under the supervision of Dr Mazhar Waseem and Professor James Banks.
Prior to starting my doctoral studies, I worked in research at the Universidad de Costa Rica, joining academic projects as well as collaborations with international organisations and local authorities for policy analysis.
