Luis Garcia-Carreras is a lecturer in atmospheric modelling at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. His research interests include:

  • The representation of tropical convection and clouds in weather and climate models.
  • Impacts of land-surface changes on clouds and rainfall.
  • Boundary layer dynamics in desert and tropical environments.
  • The large-scale West African monsoon and Saharan heat low.
  • The effects of atmospheric model biases on simulations of climate impacts.
