Overview

I have been a Lecturer in Global Politics at the University of Manchester since 2018, and am the MA Director for the MA Human Rights / Human Rights with Law. My current research project looks at social movements in authoritarian states, with a focus on human rights in the Global South.  My teaching and research interests include: human rights, social movements, international political sociology, authoritarianism, Middle Eastern politics, policy making and knowledge production in the Global South. 

Previously, I have worked for the Commission for Racial Equality, the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Department for Education in the UK.
