Overview

Marianne is currently working for The Productivity Institute at The Alliance Manchester Business School on the Investment in Places Productivity Campaign. Marianne has a recent in Regional Studies, entitled "The economic resilience scorecard: regional policy responses for crises recovery". Marianne is an Associate Member of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, AMBS. Marianne obtained both degrees (BA in Economics with Econometrics and PhD) from the University of Sheffield. Marianne joined the staff at The University of Manchester in November 1997 and has worked on a number of research projects and held a Hallsworth Fellow position.

Keywords: business cycles, regional economics, monetary policy, nonlinear modelling.

Marianne's main research focus is on regional economic resilience, spatial inequalities and local economic strategies. Marianne has a recent working paper at The Productivity Institute for the North West Productivity Forum with Richard Allmendiger and John Holden entitled "The North West of England’s Productivity Challenge: Exploring the issues".

Current research projects:

Marianne is currently working for The Productivity Institute at The Alliance Manchester Business School on the Investment in Places Productivity Campaign. Marianne has recently worked on the following research projects: "Regional Resilience and Sustainable Industrial Restructuring"; the Consortium for Research in Innovative and Strategic Public Procurement and the Oldham Economic Review.
