Overview
Mat Johnson is a senior lecturer in employment studies based in the Work and Equalities Institute at the Alliance Manchester Business School. His research interests include wage setting, precarious work and the changing nature of labour market regulation at the local, national, and international levels.
Mat currently holds a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship grant to undertake a comparative qualitative study of work and employment in six cities around the world (2020–27).
Mat has published articles in Human Relations, Human Resource Management Journal, Industrial Relations Journal, Transfer and Work, Employment and Society, and has co-authored several book chapters.
