RESEARCH EXPERIENCE 

Research Assistant (Dr. Katrina Mullan)                                                                                             May 2023–Present      

Department of Economics, University of Montana, Missoula, Montana

  • Conducted data analysis and cleaning (in Stata) on tree planting programs’ impact on local livelihoods and communities in Uganda, access to grazing land, and energy use. Supervised onsite data collection in Uganda.

The Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research (ITRR)

  • Summer: Conducted qualitative, on-site travel and recreation research. Collected field survey data at the Great Basin National Park (Nevada) and Lassen Volcanic National Park (California). Spoke with visitors about their park experience to gather socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Fall: Analyze and decipher qualitative socioeconomic data to enter it into Excel to help estimate the economic contribution of nonresident travel to Montana’s economy.

  • Used Stata to conduct data analysis and cleaning for an energy and environmental economics project working with Tim Dobermann (PhD Candidate in Economics), Ignacio Banares-Sanchez (PhD Candidate in Economics), and Dr. Niclas Moneke (Associate Professor of Economics, University of Oxford).
