Overview

I co-lead Digital Health Software, a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, project managers, UI/UX designers and software test / support engineers. I specialise in the application of mobile technologies to healthcare research with particular expertise in software as a medical device and integration with NHS and other systems. 

I have over twenty years software development, project and programme management experience. Prior to joining academia I worked for a range of different companies leading the development of software products with a particular focus on smartphones and telecommunications. I am Co-Investigator and / or software development lead on a number of digital health projects across a range of health domains including serious mental illness, cancer prevention and rheumatoid arthritis.

I am part of the Senior Leadership Team within our research group and the professional services representative on the Divisional Leadership Team for the Division of Informatics, Imaging and Data Sciences. I collaborate with other senior members of staff to set strategic directions.

I'm was previously Head of Operations for our ISO27001 compliant Information Security Management System (ISMS) and took ultimate responsibility for ensuring that we achieved compliance with this standard.

Biography

Experienced and capable technical programme manager, software team leader and digital health specialist with over 20 years’ experience in software development. Successful delivery of a large number of technical projects in academia and industry. Experience of building and managing high performing software teams following Agile methodologies. Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels both within and external to an organisation.
