Overview

Matthias is a Wellcome Trust Sir Henry Dale Fellow and Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Women’s Mental Health, in the Division of Psychology and Mental Health. His central interest is on understanding how family shapes mental health and mental illness. His work tends to focus on large, observational datasets, using a range of biostatistical methods, including causal inference methods, longitudinal modelling, survey methods, latent class analysis and network analysis. His interests also include children and young people's mental health, prison mental health, the effect of the COVID pandemic, perinatal epidemiology and substance misuse.
