Accepting PhD Students
Dr Maurice O'Connell is a Research Associate in Statistics and Causal Inference at the University of Manchester.
He attained a PhD in Health Economics & Statistics at the Graduate Entry Medical School, University of Limerick. After his PhD, Maurice worked as a postdoctoral researcher in biostatistics at the HRB Clinical Research Facility, School of Medicine, University of Galway. Maurice has held lecturing and research positions at the University of Limerick and Munster Technological University. Prior to his PhD, Dr O'Connell trained and worked as an actuary.
His research interests include causal inference, medical statistics, causal machine learning, counterfactual prediction, statistical methodology in medicine and epidemiology, decision theory, statistical and health economic analysis of randomised controlled trials and observational studies.
