I am Diabetes specialist Podiatrist and Medical Research Council Doctoral Training Program full time PhD student. I have a passion for clinical work in the field of amputation prevention, as well research in diabetic foot disease.
My research interests focus on the Charcot foot and podiatric biomechanics. I have a focus on understanding the role of morphology and foot function in the genesis and prevention of diabetic foot complications.
aim to use Machine Learning and Computer vision tools to better understand the role of biomechanics in the genesis of diabetic foot disease. I employ computer vision, machine learning and data science approaches to develop quantitative approaches to the study of complex clinical entities.
My doctoral training program project aims to elucidate new structural phenotypes within the diabetic foot population, using radiographs and clinical data. The project seeks to understand how foot morphology relates to prognosis, as well as identify possible structural risk factors for Charcot foot development.
The overall goal of my research is to generate new evidence for the development of biomechanical interventions in the diabetic foot. In addition, I hope to highlight and promote the potential of machine learning and AI tools in the field of diabetic foot research.
I am currently still practicing as a podiatrist. My clinical interests focus on biomechanics of the high-risk foot. I employ mechanical theories and therapies in clinical practice. I have 9 years of experience in MSK and the Diabetic foot, working across several multi-disciplinary teams. I have always sought to emphasise the role biomechanics in wound healing and prevention.
