I received my PhD from the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, Italy. After a brief spell at Newcastle University, I joined the University of Manchester in 2006.
I am currently the Director of Postgraduate Research for the School of Social Sciences.
My research revolves around the role of expectations, learning and information in shaping economic outcomes and affecting economic policies.
Departure from rational expectations opens the door to what has been dubbed as “the wilderness of bounded rationality”. Most of my work has been contributing to mapping out this wilderness, so that we can travel it with confidence.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
