Overview

Mohammed's research is on the economics of coupled human-natural systems, with a focus on river basins. He is a former Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the School of Engineering of the University of Manchester. Mohammed holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Khartoum, a Master of Science in Integrated Water Resources Management from Cologne University of Applied Sciences, and a PhD in water resources engineering and economics from The University of Manchester. Mohammed’s career involved participating in water management research and consultancy projects in a variety of regions around the world, including North, West, and East Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. His work focuses on designing balanced solutions for complex water resource systems using state-of-the-art river system and economic modeling approaches coupled with artificial intelligence techniques.
