Research interests

My teaching, research and publications revolve around the following topics: (i) the Palestine/Israel question and the Arab-Israeli conflict generally; (ii) Israeli society, politics and culture; (ii) Middle Eastern Jews before the 1950s; (iii) Mizrahi Jews (Mizrahim); (iv) the phenomenon of nationalism; (v) the relational consolidation of Jewish and Arab nationalisms within a comparative framework. I happily consider all PhD applications pertaining to the above topics.
