Dr. Umar is an Application Scientist at Henry Royce Institute with research experience in hydrogels, fibre based composites, 2D materials especially Graphene and MoS2, textile related technologies and materials characterization techniques including SEM, XRD, FTIR, AFM, Rheology, Mastersizer and Raman. He also have experience in developing novel commercial products i.e. sustainable substrates, composites, membranes and wound dressings. His research interests also include camouflage composites, 3D printing of textile materials, scaffolds for cell culture and tissue engineering.
