Nesfun Nahar is a Doctoral Candidate in Architecture and a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at the School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED), the University of Manchester. Her doctoral research focuses on the recent trend of constructing big buildings on university campuses. In 2003, she received a Master of Arts in Housing & Urbanism from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, UK funded by a Commonwealth Scholarship. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2001, where she was awarded the Shamsunnahar Khanam Gold Medal for achieving the highest CGPA in her undergraduate studies.
Nesfun has been actively engaged in teaching since 2001 and is currently on study leave from BUET, where she has contributed as an assistant professor since 2015. Her teaching portfolio includes design studios, communication studios, and architectural history courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prior to joining BUET, she made significant contributions as a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at BRAC University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for 11 years. Her extensive experience reflects her commitment to the field of architecture and education. Throughout her career, Nesfun took part in various conferences, seminars and workshops and has served as a jury member for several student charettes. She also has brief experience working as an architect with various architectural practices in Dhaka and has taken part in a number of architectural design competitions.
