Overview
Teaching
I work as a Teaching Assistant at the Manchester Institute of Education, under the School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED) of the University of Manchester on the following units:
EDUC21742 Social Psychology of Schooling (SEED, UG unit)
EDUC24042 Pedagogical Practices in Education (SEED, UG unit)
Key Qualification
I am a Doctoral Researcher (PhD in Education) at the University of Manchester, UK, focusing my research on selective school entry, students' dominant beliefs, agency structuring and attainment analyses. My scholarly pursuits revolve around examining policy frameworks impacting educational equity and devising interventions to foster inclusive learning environments. With over a decade of experience in teaching, social research, and policy development in Ghana, I've lectured (at esteemed institutions such as the University of Cape Coast and the University of Education, Winneba, all in Ghana) and consulted on prominent projects alongside stakeholders like the UNOPS (Liberia), World Bank, Cambridge Education/UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (formerly DFID), Ministry of Education (MoE)/ Ghana Education Service (GES), National Teaching Council (NTC), and Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL), among others. I have led the Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Team of Ghana's National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) from 2019 to 2021, and contributed significantly to initiatives, spearheading change in education policies and practices. I played a pivotal role in crafting Ghana's National Pre-tertiary Learning Assessment Framework (NPLAF) and the mathematics standard-based curriculum for the Common Core Programme (CCP) aimed at 7th to 10th graders.
