Postdoctoral Researcher in the Barran and Winpenny Group at The University of Manchester. Interested in the application of ion mobility mass spectrometry and computational modelling for supramolecular complexes as well as method development for soft-landing ion mobility mass spectrometry.

Dr. Niklas Geue is a postdoctoral researcher in the groups of Prof. Perdita Barran and Prof. Richard Winpenny at The University of Manchester, UK. He received his Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Leipzig University in Germany in 2019, before he worked on different projects in Analytical Supramolecular Chemistry at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, the University of New South Wales in Sydney and the University of California, Los Angeles. He obtained his PhD as a President’s Doctoral Scholar from The University of Manchester in 2023, where his project focussed on the use of ion mobility mass spectrometry and tandem mass spectrometry for the characterisation of metallosupramolecular complexes. His postdoctoral work now involves the development of ion soft-landing and microscopic imaging for biomacromolecules and supramolecules. Niklas also serves as a committee member of the British Mass Spectrometry Society (BMSS), a board member of the eLeMeNTe e.V. society and as an advisory board member of the Friends of the Chemistry Olympiad in Germany (FChO).
