Dr. Nuruzzaman joined the University of Manchester in September 2020 as a lecturer in the Comparative and International Business research group. He received his Ph.D. in Management from Rutgers University, the USA, and his Master of Science in Economics from Tilburg University, the Netherlands. His main research interest is in the area of global strategy. He is also interested in studying (ir)responsible business practices and how they influence the global strategy and performance of multinational firms. He has published his works in Global Strategy Journal, Journal of International Business Policy, International Business Review, and Journal of International Management. His works have received various international recognitions, such as the 2022 Temple/AIB Best Paper Award and the 2021 Wiley's Global Strategy Journal Top Cited Articles. Before starting his career in academia, Dr. Nuruzzaman was an officer in the Economic Affairs Department of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat, where he was part of a team that administers the ASEAN free trade area, and the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand free trade negotiations.
