Personal profile
Overview
Biography
I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Greenwich (2013) and an MSc in Clinical Neurology from the University of Sheffield (2015). I then worked as a Clinical Trials Assistant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (2015-2017), and as a Research Assistant in Health Economics at the School of Health and Related Research, University of Sheffield (2017-2019).
In 2024, I was awarded a PhD from the University of Edinburgh. This PhD utilised Scotland’s routinely-collected administrative health datasets to investigate the perinatal and offspring outcomes of maternal epilepsy and to explore the role of prenatal exposure to anti-seizure medications.
I continued with this work as part of a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position at the same institution, before moving to Manchester to take up a position as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre within the department of Biology, Medicine and Health.
Research interests
I am currently working on defining and validating an open-source algorithm to identify pregnancy episodes in national electronic health data in England. This will allow for accurate identification of pregnancy episodes on a national scale, and will be used to conduct large scale epidemiological studies into maternal health and inequalities in the UK.
