Overview

Paromita Rakhi is a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Manchester. She is a researcher in Management Accounting, with research interests broadly encompassing managerial control in public and private organizations, power dynamics, accounting systems, budgeting systems, the impact of power on emotions, corruption and human rights. Additionally, she is interested in critically investigating organizational, social, and cultural practices. Since 2019, she has been actively conducting research and teaching a variety of accounting courses at the University of Manchester.

Paromita completed her Ph.D. in Management Accounting at the University of Manchester. Her thesis was titled "Budgeting and Power: An Institutional Perspective on Budgeting in a Public Sector Organisation in Bangladesh." She holds an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Salford.
