Overview

My research focuses on embryo-endometrial interactions during human embryo implantation. I came from a cell biology background before embarking on post-doctoral studies to investigate implantation. In 2018, I began a Fellowship at the Maternal and Fetal Research Centre to develop and interrogate sophisticated in vitro models of human embryo implantation and placenta using embryos and stem/primary cell systems. Cell biology techniques, microscopy and in silico integration of omics data are being leveraged to understand the basic biology of implantation and placentation. Particular focus is being trained on how defective implantation contributes to infertility and pregnancy complications. Mouse models are also utilised to investigate how events at implantation can lead to developmental programming effects on offspring health.
