Overview

Ros is Director of Operations for the SYNBIOCHEM Centre for Synthetic Biology Research at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB). The Centre brings together interdisciplinary experts to provide faster more predictable SynBio solutions for the production of fine and speciality chemicals. Founded in November 2014, the Centre has benefited from major RCUK investment (>£10M) and state-of-the-art instrumentation run by a team of Senior Experimental Officers that provides fully integrated DESIGN/BUILD/TEST technology platforms. Ros delivers the full operational and strategic development for the Centre, and coordinates the management, experimental and engagement activities.
Ros was awarded her PhD from the University of London (St. Georges Hospital Medical School) in 1990 moving to Manchester half way through and then spent approx. 8 years as a research associate working in the field of neuroscience and neuro-inflammation.  Since moving away from the laboratory she has spent over 10 years in research management at the University, moving to the MIB as the Research and Planning Manager in 2009.
