Ragdad Cani Miranti is a PhD Candidate at the Global Development Institute at The University of Manchester. Prior to commencing her PhD, she earned a Bachelor degree from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Statistik Jakarta, Indonesia focused on the social statistics and population studies. She also gained an MA in International Development from University of Nagoya, Japan in 2021 in which her work related on poverty and regional convergence at the sub-district level of Indonesia.
She has been working for Central Bureau Statistics of Indonesia as a statistician and regional data analyst for 10 years and engaging as a practitioner in the academia/university in Indonesia. During her career, she has actively written articles/opinions in mass media and published several papers.
Her research interests concern on the integration of econometrics, spatial data science, and statistics to comprehend the regional economic and social development. Specifically, her current research deals with the quantitative geography of development, regional growth and convergence analysis, spatial econometrics, spatial statistics, and social and economic development.
Her PhD dissertation focuses on the comparison on the use of conventional data and new approach on remote sensing and big data in evaluating and monitoring regional economic growth at the district level of Indonesia .
