I graduated from St Andrews University (BSc medical sciences, 2009) and the University of Manchester (MBChB, 2012), during which I developed both clinical and research interest in Respiratory Medicine, with a particular focus in asthma. I continued to work within the Respiratory Research Group of UoM during my Academic Foundation Training Programme (2012-2014) and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship (2014-2017) in parallel with my clinical training.
In 2023, I completed my PhD entitled "the impact of physiological variability in asthma diagnosis and management". During my PhD I was awarded the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Grant which allowed me to further investigate the role and feasibility of home-based tests to improve asthma diagnosis.
I was awarded the NIHR Clinical Lectureship upon completion of PhD (2024), which allowed me to further develop knowledge and insight in novel diagnostic and asthma phenotyping.
My research interests include applied clinical research, biomedical big data, circadian biology, computational modelling and lung physiology.
