ABSTRACT
Although there is a growing body of literature on how humans act responsibly, there is less attention to responsible management (RM) practices as a unit of study and analysis. Even more so, the few studies that introduce a practice lens to RM studies posit that they are arrays of activities that managers and employees do. Hence, the RM literature has been anthropocentric and humanistic. Following the call for a turn to posthuman onto-epistemology, this thesis employed actor-network theory (ANT) as a method of analysis to empirically examine how RM practices emerge. The research examined and analysed the emergence of RM practices by unpacking the heterogeneous ordering, organising, materialising, and translating of sociomaterial relations underlying the ‘becoming’ of solar taxi e-mobility. Through an ethnographic case study of solar taxi e-mobility, a solar-powered e-mobility system in Ghana, this research adds to the RM literature by providing a nuanced understanding of how RM practices emerge. The research also introduced a novel conceptual framework of staking to propose an alternative approach to conducting stakeholder analysis in RM studies – an approach that aligns with ANT and posthuman onto-epistemology.
Research method: I am experienced in qualititative research. I use ethnography, interview and document analysis in gathering data from the field. I also have experience in quantitive research, but majority of my work is qualitatitive.
Data analysis: I normally use thematic analysis and content analysis to analyse my data.
Ongoing research:
1. Solar Taxi Harvard Business Teaching Case study
2. Papers in progress for 2 ABS 4 Journals
