Overview

I am a Lecturer in Education at the Manchester Institute of Education with a background in international education and cross-cultural psychology. My research interests focus broadly on international and intercultural education and cross-cultural and developmental psychology, particularly on international students’ acculturation experiences, bio-ecological development, and (im)mobility; mental health and psychological wellbeing; mundane studies; social connections and interactions; Study Abroad (Exchange) Programmes (Residence/Year Abroad Programme); language, culture, and identity; and creative research methods.

I primarily teach on the MA International Education programme, including on course units Concepts and Practices of International Education, Engaging with Educational Research, etc. I am leading course unit EDUC71232 Intercultural Engagement at Work and in Communities. I am also the Co-ordinator for Postgraduate Academic Englightenment Programme at MIE. 

I am the founding convenor of the Eastern Higher Education Research Network (ETHER) and ChinaHE PGR/ECR Network. I’m also part of the Higher Education research group (HERE@Manchester) and Education and Psychology research group at MIE.
