I received my B.Eng. and M.Sc. from IAU and UTM, respectively. Then, upon the receipt of a full Ph.D. scholarship package, I furthered my studies as a Ph.D. scholar at the HKUST. Following that, I was conferred upon the prestigious fellowships provided by HKPOLYU to do research as a Postdoctoral Fellow. By the dint of my publication records, I was appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Asociate at the University of Manchester, focusing on the area of Construction Project Management through the utilisation of AI-based techniques. I have also been selected as Associate Editors, Guest Editors, and Reviewers of the leading journal.
Currently, I am a lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Engineering Management Department at the University of Manchester. Apart from my research role, I am delivering research-informed teaching to a large cohort of M.Sc. students, including Project Finance, and Construction Project Management.
Concerning my research, I have been applying leading-edge AI-based techniques (e.g., deep learning and machine learning techniques, fuzzy logics, meta-heuristics algorithms, probabilistic techniques, BIM and Digital Twin, Internet of things, etc.) to the realm of construction engineering and management, including but not limited to, Construction Safety, Green Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Management, Building Energy Efficiency, and Facility Management. Currently, I am specifically working on the development of ensemble AI-based algorithms, which is the integration of machine learning and advanced fuzzy set theories, and accordingly, applying them to the areas of (1) Construction Safety, (2) Infrastructure Management, and (3) Sustainability.
