Overview

Sarah Russo is a Lecturer in Accounting (Assistant Professor) at Alliance Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester. Her research focuses on the intersection of management accounting and control, risk management, and sustainability accounting and reporting, with a particular emphasis on their application within public sector organizations and public administrations.

Sarah completed her PhD through a joint program between the Universities of Pisa, Siena, and Florence (Italy). Her doctoral dissertation, titled "Public Sector Risk Management Practices and Multiple Logics: (Inter)Actions and (Dis)Agreements in a Hybrid Context," delved into the intricacies of risk management in hybrid public sector organizations. The study examined, through a qualitative single case study, how diverse institutional logics intersect and interact, shaping the implementation and evolution of risk management practices in these complex settings.
