Overview

Prior to joining University of Manchester, Saumik held academic positions at Newcastle University (UK), Hitotsubashi University (Japan), Osaka University (Japan), University of Nottingham (Malaysia campus) and worked in international organizations including the Asian Development Bank Institute (Tokyo), and the World Bank (Washington DC).

Research interests: inequality, political economy of development, and structural transformation.
