Seongin Na is a PhD student in Swarm and Computational Intelligence (SwaCIL) Lab at the University of Manchester. His research interests are focused on Swarm Robotics, Biomemitics and Machine Learning. He awarded President's Doctoral Scholar (PDS) Award for his PhD Study.
Prior to his PhD study, he studied Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Manchester and graduated in 2019. During the final year of his undergraduate study, he published a conference proceeding "Extended Artificial Pheromone System for Swarm Robotic Application".
SwaCIL was formed in 2019 with the main focus on Swarm Robotics and its applications in real-world scenarios. We work on bio-inspired swarm scenarios (aggregation, flocking, foraging etc) and model them with our simulation software and real micro-robots. The target applications are in Agriculture, Extreme Environment, and Cleaning.
Seongin Na awarded President's Doctoral Scholar Award (PDS), which is given to 3% of PhD students across all the faculty at the University of Manchester.
