Personal profile
Overview
I am a philosophy PhD student at the University of Manchester. I am working on the research titled as 'the meaningfulness of work and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI)'.
My research can be broken into two parts. The first will explore what is the 'meaningful work'. Mainly, I will focus on the theories of Marx, Kant, Robert Nozick, and Alasdair MacIntyre, to analyze their strengths and weaknesses and propose my concept of meaningful work. In the second part, based on my proposed theory of meaningful work, I will address the questions about how AI will impact on people's meaningful work? Whether AI will have the positive or negative impact on the meaningful work?
Moreover, my research will also focus on these debates: whether it is necessary for human beings to work, even if they have abundant basic income provided by the government? Meaningful work is a preference or fundamental needs for human beings? Whether people should adopt the perfectionism or liberalism concept of meaningful work?
Research interests
My research interestes centre on AI applied ethics, moral philosophy, philosophy of work, social and political philosophy, perfectionism and liberalism, Marxim, and Kant
