Shraboni Ghosal is a Research Associate (Postdoctoral) in Data Science at the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health, University of Manchester, UK. She has a PhD (Medicine) from the School of Medicine, Keele University, UK.
Shraboni Ghosal has a PhD in Medicine from the School of Medicine, Keele University. She has a background in Epidemiology, Data Science, Primary care electronic health records (EHRs), mixed methods research, systematic reviews, meta-analysis and evidence synthesis.
Shraboni's research interest includes Weight loss and Weight management in Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes, and other Obesity-related disorders. Currently, she is working on a mixed methods research project on using Digital health apps in Type 2 Diabetes at UoM. She uses a range of research methods, i.e., quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods for her research.
Shraboni has expertise in the analysis of longitudinal, real world primary care healthcare data, mixed methods research, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, evidence synthesis, developing robust study designs, implementing plans for data analysis, using multivariable regression analysis, survival/sensitivity analysis, translating findings into practical information for patients/public, Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), stakeholders, policymakers, disseminating findings and information that is of clinical relevance. She has undertaken extensive training in research methods, including quantitative and qualitative research methods, quantitative and qualitative data analyses, management and leadership.
Shraboni is also an Allied HCP - a Weight managment and Nutrition Consultant (RNutr), registered with The Nutrition Society, UK, Association for Nutrition, UK, Federation of Holistic Therapists, UK and the British Dietetic Association, UK. She has a PGCE in Further, Adult and Higher Education and is an experienced Lecturer.
Shraboni's research interests include the use of evidence from health research to inform practice, health policies and decisions related to service delivery, implementing research methods, evidence synthesis and disseminating findings to patients/public, HCPs and stakeholders.
