Biography

Sofia Yasmin is Associate Professor of Accounting at Alliance Manchester Business School. She is Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Social Responsibility (SR) for the School. She has previously served as Associate Head of Social Responsibility for Accounting and Finance and as Programme Director for MSc Accounting.

Sofia’s research focuses on critical accounting, particularly accounting and accountability practices at the margins. She is especially interested in contexts where governance and accountability relationships are emerging or being contested within pressured and politicised institutional environments.

Sofia's research has been published in world leading journals including, Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and Critical Perspectives on Accounting.
