Stephine Whiteside is a lecturer in Healthcare Sciences at the University of Manchester, specialising in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics. She has held Health and Care Professions Council registration as a Clinical Scientist in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics since 2013. Her teaching focus is the MSc Clinical Science course at the UoM. She is unit lead for the Fundamental Principles of Histocompatibility and Immmunogenetics and the Stem Cells, Solid Organ Transplantation and Transfusion Units and co-lead for the Introduction to Blood Sciences Unit. Stephine also contributes to teaching and assessment on the MBChB and MSc Clinical Immunology programmes. She is passionate about education of the healthcare scientist workforce of the future
Stephine's research interests include the role of antibodies directed against non-human leukocyte antigens in solid organ transplantation.
She actively engages with the wider histocompatibility and immunogenetics community through membership with the British Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics
