Tahir Abbas Syed is a Senior Lecturer in Management Sciences at the Alliance Manchester Business School. Tahir holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Sussex, UK. He also holds a degree (undergraduate) in Mechanical Engineering from the College of E&ME of NUST University, Pakistan, and an MSc in Engineering Management from the Politecnico di Torino University, Italy. He is a coordinator for the Digital Transformation Research Group at Alliance Manchester Business School and serves as a program committee member at the Britsih Academy of Management, e-Business, and e-Government SIG. 

His research interests cover domains of the business value of information systems and supply chain disruptions - focusing on organizational response and recovery strategies, His research has been published in journals such as the European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Information and Management, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, among others. He serves on the editorial review board of the IJOPM, EJIS, BJOM, and I&M journals.

Tahir has successfully secured £50,500 in grants focusing on projects to understand the performance implications of BDA, uncover digital vulnerabilities in the buy now pay later business models, and Metaverse harassment issues.

Currently, Tahir is a program director for MSc Operations, Projects, and Supply chain Management program, which ranks 1st in the UK, 3rd in Europe, and 6th in the World in the 2023 QS Business Masters Ranking for the Supply chain management program.
