Personal profile

Biography

I'm a First Year PhD Student under Professor David Wedge in the Manchester Cancer Research Centre. I'm a mathematician by trade but have extensively retrained in medicine and bioinformatics after a period working as a software engineer at NHS Digital.

My project is on developing new ML methods to analyse spatial transcriptomic data, and applying that to samples from Kenya, with the aim of understanding the specific aetiology of Prostate Cancer in African populations, which is systemically understudied.

I'm very interested in connecting with other people applying mathematics to genetic data, particularly in applications of topology and category theory.
