I am currently a PhD candidate in Education with an interest in gender and sexuality. My project explores the lived experiences of LGBTQ schoolteachers in China, which is supported by the President's Doctoral Scholar Award.
Before coming to the UK, I worked as a Chinese language teacher in Shanghai for six years. I hold a Bachelor degree and a Master’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from East China Normal University where I won the National scholarship from the Ministry of Education of China; I also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Manchester where I won the Platt Prize for achievement.
