Biography
Xiaodan Liu (Zoe) is a doctoral researcher in Urban Economics and Real Estate at the University of Manchester, fully funded by the School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED). Her research focuses on new work patterns and housing location choices, under the supervision of Prof Anupam Nanda and Dr Sotirios Thanos.
Before beginning her PhD, Xiaodan completed an MSc in Real Estate at the University of Manchester, graduating with Distinction. Her dissertation examined state-level disparities in how real estate markets respond to infrastructure investment.
Prior to her academic journey in Manchester, Xiaodan gained five years of professional experience. She worked as an engineer at AVIC (Aviation Industry Corporation of China) and as an analyst at Cushman & Wakefield and CCID (China Centre for Information Industry Development), a research institute under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
