Xin Li is a PhD candidate in Sociology, focusing on the intersections of cities, digital platforms, and visuals. Her doctoral project centres on China's emerging first-tier cities in the digital media era, exploring how the city is mediated via short-form video. The project is supervised by Professor Graeme Kirkpatrick and Professor Nicholas Thoburn.
Xin earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Nankai University and a Master's in Arts from the Communication University of China, which have provided her with a diverse perspective on digital society and culture. Additionally, her experience working in national media institutions and we-media in China has further enriched her insights.
