Yongxuan Fu is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Professor Nick Crossley. He received his bachelor’s degree from Inner Mongolia University in 2016, in its famous School of Ethnology and Sociology, and then completed his master’s degree in sociology at University of Bristol. His PhD project is about space and sociological theory of modernity, mainly focusing on three theorists: Georg Simmel, Michel Foucault, and Henri Lefebvre. He tries to find out how the modernity expressed in sociological theory is analysed and constructed through space and relationship.
